After yesterday's drive, we are ever so thankful that we have arrived in Reno safely. God was definitely with us yesterday as we drove through the Sierra Nevada Mountains. It was absolutely the worst driving conditions I have ever experienced. The snow was higher than the car, the roads were completely snow and ice covered, it was dark, we had to buy chains for the tires from a guy on the side of the road ($80 for chains!!) or we would never have made it, it took us 5 1/2 hours to go the 60 miles through the mountains, Patrick lost his phone in the snow when he got out to clean the wipers and windshield since they kept freezing and yes, I had to pee in a Starbucks cup in the car!! Elevation was 7,200 feet - would love to see the views in good weather. So, as I said earlier, we are very thankful to God for getting us here safely.
Today we will move into Patrick's apartment and check out the city. We will post again later today. I am just glad that we are not driving for 12-15 hours today!!
