Day 3 Mom talks

OK, I know I said Patrick would post pics last night, but he was too tired. Maybe he would do it with some prompting from someone else besides Mom - hint, hint. Left Amarillo this morning around 9. Texas is SO flat and desolate. The scenery changed once we got to New Mexico. The speed limit in NM is 75, and it is very windy. I am trying to convince Patrick that it would be good to stop in Albuquerque - he is not so sure. He is bummed that we decided not to go to the Grand Canyon as it would add about 4 hours to our day. The road to the Canyon is covered with packed snow and ice which would add even more time. Our goal today is Bakersfield, CA which means today is going to be very long. That would leave about 8 hours tomorrow. We started another book - House Rules by Jodi Picoult. Convinced Patrick to stop in Albuquerque, and we are here. Will be back...
