Wine Country!

We were up early and on our way to Medoc at 8:00 am.  It was a rather long drive but the vineyards were beautiful and the chateaus (houses) spectacular.  Our tour guide was a bit bossy and it was hilarious listening to her boss the bus driver.  It was the same tour guide as we had yesterday, and we have to admit that she was better today.  We had quite the education on wine today!  We tasted wines from Chateau LaGrange and Chateau Lynch-Bages.  They were good, not great.  The Chateau LaGrange provided the most education on wines.   Driving through the Medoc region was kind of like driving through Napa Valley as there was a vineyard about every hundred yards.  Dad says the countryside French are much more friendly than the city French who are a**holes!
We had to have a crepe again today - delicious!!  We also had afternoon canapés for happy hour.  😊
Dad had a massage and his back feels much better.  Dinner was in the Grand Dining Room and it was not very good.  We did have dinner with company people  tonight (had to go to work tonight!!) and our hostess was, well, let's just say not the best hostess.
We left Bordeaux tonight at 9:00 for London.  Right now we are still on the river so it is smooth sailing.  Once we reach the bay/ocean I am sure we will be back to rough seas.
There are lots of activities on board tomorrow....cooking demonstration, wine tasting, bingo 😉,trivia contests, putting contests, water Olympics.  Needless to say, we will miss most of the activities (I will be doing the cooking demonstration and we both will do the wine tasting) !!
That is it for today,  Off to the English Channel on June 6,  which is 71 years after D-Day.
