We arrived in Ireland this morning at 6:30 am Ireland time to rain, wind and 50 degree temperatures. As you can see from the picture, we had quite a bit of luggage to haul.  The flight over was eventful as usual for Erica.  She was sitting with Blake and Stephen when she got sick and zoned out.  Kudos to the flight attendants on United Flight 24 from Newark to Shannon as they saved her!  Needless to say, none of us got any sleep on the flight.
After gathering the luggage and loading the 2 cars, Blake and I were the chauffeurs since the cars had manual transmissions.  I had not driven a stick shift in 35+ years AND we had to drive on the wrong side of very narrow roads!  We arrived safely at Doonbeg and checked into our cottage.  After a bit of breakfast, the boys departed for a round of golf at Lahinch.  Erica and I decided on a nap and then left for the Doolin Cave.  Lahinch got the better of the boys, and a few pictures from their day are below.  While they certainly enjoyed their time together, they hope to improve upon their scores tomorrow!  Erica and I enjoyed our time together and saw one of the largest free hanging stalactites.
We all returned to the cottage after the day's activities
to head out for dinner together in Doonbeg.  As you can see from the pictures, we had the restaurant to ourselves!  A very nice dinner, but everyone was more than a little tired and came back and went to bed.  It is now 10:50 and has just gotten dark!  Hard to go to bed when it is still light out!
Tomorrow is golf at Doonbeg in the morning for the boys and The Burren and shopping for the girls.  We are meeting in the afternoon to go to the Cliffs of Moher.  Hoping for better weather tomorrow!

Just a few pieces of luggage!

Dinner at the Igoe Inn with all of our friends!
