Our First Day in Portugal
We arrived in Portugal this morning around 7:30 local time, got our rental car (a Mercedes SUV) and hit the road. We drove north to Porto (Dad was so tired, he actually pulled over and asked me to drive!) and after getting lost several times right in Porto, we finally found our Pousada. Thank heavens most people speak English here! Our Pousada is very nice (see pictures!), and the staff here is great. We decided to take a taxi to do some port tastings and hit 4 wineries this afternoon. We had some lunch and headed back to our pousada for a much needed nap. Dinner this evening was at a restaurant right on the ocean. We had some great sushi! The food was excellent but the service was terrible! For the first time ever, Dad did not leave a tip. The weather was better than expected - it did rain, but not too much. Hope you enjoy our pictures!
